How many levels are there?
Pattern Pop has 100+ levels of increasing difficulty. New levels arrive in future updates at no extra cost.
What is the Tip Jar?
The Tip Jar is a completely optional way to support ongoing development. It unlocks nothing — it's simply a way to say thanks if you're enjoying the game.
Will my progress transfer to a new iPhone?
If you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup that includes Pattern Pop, your progress should carry over. Setting up as a new device won't transfer progress — something we're working to improve.
I'm stuck on a level. Any tips?
Look for large groups rather than small ones — a group of 6 scores much more than two groups of 3. Try clearing tiles from the bottom first to create chain reactions as new tiles fall in.

Blackout is a minimalist logic puzzle for iPhone. Start with a grid of light and dark tiles — your goal is simple: turn them all dark. But every tile you flip affects its neighbors too.

I'm stuck. Any tips?
Every Blackout puzzle has a solution — it's never random. Try working from one corner and tracking which tiles need to flip as you move across each row. Sometimes starting over with a fresh perspective is the fastest path through.
Is there a move counter or par score?
Yes — each puzzle tracks the number of moves you used. There's no penalty for using more, but finding the optimal solution is its own reward.
How do hints work?
Hints are an optional in-app purchase. When used, a hint highlights the next tile you should flip to make progress toward the solution. Hints don't solve the puzzle for you — they just give you a nudge in the right direction.
What are the color themes?
Blackout includes three optional color themes you can purchase: Neon (high-contrast electric tones), Ocean (cool blues and teals), and Sunset (warm oranges and pinks). The default black-and-white theme is always free. Themes are a one-time purchase and never expire.

Balance is a calm, focused number puzzle for iPhone. Each grid holds tiles of different values — your goal is to redistribute them until every tile is even.
Tap a tile to select it, then tap a neighbor to shift one unit of weight. Learn it in seconds; finding the shortest path is where the real game begins.

Tap a tile to select it, then tap an adjacent tile (up, down, left, or right) to move one unit of weight between them. Your goal is to make every tile hold the same value. When the grid is perfectly balanced, the puzzle is solved.

Yes — Balance works entirely offline. No internet connection required.
How many puzzles are there?
200 hand-crafted puzzles. Grids grow from 3×3 to 4×4 as you progress, and the numbers get larger as you go.
How are stars and the Perfect Badge awarded?
Balance calculates the true minimum number of moves for every board. Solve within 110% of that minimum for three stars, within 150% for two, and finish for one. Match the minimum exactly and you earn the Perfect Badge. The targets are shown below the board while you play.
What are Leaderboards?
Balance supports Game Center leaderboards so you can compare results with other players. They're optional — the game is fully enjoyable without them.
I'm stuck. Any tips?
Tally the total weight on the board — dividing by the number of tiles tells you the value each tile needs to reach. Then look for tiles furthest from that target and plan a path to move weight toward them. Sometimes resetting unlocks a new approach.

Does it work offline?
Yes. Analysis runs on your device and works offline. You only need an internet connection to import games from Chess.com or Lichess, or to open external links.
How do I get my games in?
Paste a game in PGN format, paste a position in FEN, set up a position by hand, or enter a Chess.com or Lichess username to fetch that player's public games.
Do I need an account?
No. Chess Analyzer doesn't require an account, and you don't need to sign in to Chess.com or Lichess to import public games.
Is it affiliated with Chess.com or Lichess?
No. Chess Analyzer is an independent app from Tarn Studios.

Meridian requires watchOS 9 or later. Which sensors are available depends on your Watch model, so some instruments may show less detail on older hardware.
Why does the altimeter show relative altitude?
Absolute altitude is shown when your Watch supports it. Otherwise Meridian shows relative altitude — how far you've climbed or descended during the current session.
Will it warn me about storms?
No. Meridian can flag a substantial drop in recorded pressure while the app is open, with a visual indicator and a vibration. Changes in elevation can also trigger it. It doesn't provide weather forecasts, background monitoring or emergency alerts, and it isn't a replacement for navigation or weather-safety equipment.
Is it a watch face or complication?
No. Meridian is an app you open, not a system watch face or complication.
Do I need an iPhone app?
No. Meridian runs directly on Apple Watch with no companion iPhone app.
Why does it ask for motion and location access?
Those permissions switch on the altimeter, barometer and compass. Readings are used on your Watch to draw the instruments and are never sent to us.

Privacy Policy

Data Collection
Tarn Studios apps do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, usage analytics, crash reports, device identifiers, or location data to us. Our apps contain no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Your progress (levels completed, scores, stars, saved boards and settings) is stored locally on your device.
Device Sensors (Meridian)
Meridian asks for motion and location permissions so it can show altitude, barometric pressure and compass heading. These readings are processed on your Apple Watch to draw the instruments. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Services You Choose to Use
A few optional features connect directly to services run by others. We don't receive any of the data involved.
Game Center (Pattern Pop, Balance): leaderboards are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Chess game import (Chess Analyzer): if you fetch games by username, the app requests that player's public games directly from Chess.com or Lichess. The username you enter goes to that service, and its privacy policy applies. Analysis itself runs on your device.
App Store links: links to our other apps open Apple's App Store. Apple may report aggregate, anonymous download totals to us; we never see who you are.
In-App Purchases
Purchases and tips are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment information is handled by Apple and is never accessible to us. We do not receive or store any financial data.
Children's Privacy
Our apps do not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your Rights
Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. Deleting an app removes its locally stored data from your device.
If this policy changes, updates will be posted here with a revised date.
Terms of Use
Plain English version: Use Tarn Studios apps for personal enjoyment. Don't reverse engineer them, resell them, or do anything harmful with them. That's pretty much it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tarn Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our apps. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.
